Watercolour is a beautiful and versatile medium that can be used to create striking images with very little setup. The practice is soothing and is the perfect medium to pick up as a hobby or to rediscover your creativity. For beginners, watercolour can be a difficult medium to master, yet so rewarding once you can understand a few key things.
In this workshop, I teach key techniques to help you gain control of the medium and understand how to build up soft and gentle layers of colour. When learning watercolour it is essential to know your tools and how to manipulate the brush and coming to terms with the fast-drying nature of it - this is the real trick to gaining luminosity in your paintings.
In the first half of the class, I’ll explain the difference in materials and terminology, and run through various exercises to help you loosen up.
In the second half of the class, we’ll learn to paint a beautiful botanical painting that you can go home with.
All materials are provided for
Light snacks, team and coffee are provided during the break, but feel free to bring your own :)
